Chiang Mai - I returned from an overseas trip yesterday and stopped at the Chiang Mai Immigration office following my arrival to update my TM-30. I was informed that from now on I would not be able to update my TM-30 myself. I was told it is the house master's duty (aka head of household) to update the TM-30 and that I could not do it myself. The house master must come to the immigration office for the update.
I was also given a paper with instructions on how to process the TM-30 on-line and encouraged to have the house master use the on-line system.
My wife was waiting in a taxi outside so she came in and completed the update.
Like many people, we have had no success using th eon-line system.
I am posting this as a heads-up and will turn-off commenting immediately ... I know the reaction to this will will not be purty ...
TLDR : Answer Summary
Recent changes in Chiang Mai's TM-30 reporting process require that only the house master can update the TM-30 at the immigration office. Expats must have their house master visit the office to complete the update, and an online system is available for processing, though users may experience difficulties.
