TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around a video that clarifies key aspects of the new 5-year multiple-entry visa in Thailand, particularly emphasizing the 180-day duration allowed per entry and issues related to visa extensions. Commenters express dissatisfaction about the lack of credit to the original video creator, Chris, while also discussing various confusions regarding visa fees for dependents, the 90-day reporting requirement, and the ability of DTV visa holders to open bank accounts in Thailand.

Can DTV visa holders open bank account in Thailand?
Neil ******
Does anyone know if you still need to do the 90 day reporting at immigration? I received my DTV a couple of days ago and it doesn’t mention it

@Neil *****
yes you do, at 1st I wasn't aware of this, reached out to immigration and they said we do. 1st report has to be done in person and then subsequent ones can be done online.

Its a good video. The thing it really clarifies is this 180 day question. Most people now understand that its a 5 year multi entry with each stamp allowing 180 days. It also clarifies the extension issue. However, so many questions could have been asked and since consulates all vary, that is a frustrating part of all of this. They need to get straight how long they want the money in the bank and how many months to prove those funds. They also really need get straight on these soft power activities and how this aligns with a 5 year visa and once your cavity filling is done, can you really stay 5 years? This visa is obviously going to massively evolve...will be fun to watch!
