Evening all, I’m hearing conflicting stories regarding my ED visa....
Been to Bali for a week in march, did my re-entry.
I’m going to Vietnam for a few days for my birthday later this month and plan to fly to the UK for 10 days later in the year, of course I’ll do my re-entry etc.
Is there a limit to the days I can be out of Thailand or limit on re-entry stamps ?
UK will be my 3rd and final re-entry.
Thanks for any help or experiences.👍🏼

TLDR : Answer Summary
The OP inquires about limitations regarding travel outside Thailand while on an ED visa, specifically asking if there are limits on days spent abroad or on the number of re-entry stamps. Contributors share insights stressing that while there isn't a formal limit, excessive travel could raise doubts with immigration officials and potentially impact the renewal of the visa. They advise staying focused on studies and keeping the educational institution informed about travel plans.
The way people are abusing the ED visa immigration will soon stop these visa being issued, or they will make them very expensive to obtain this will hurt the people who actually do want to learn Thai language rather than use it as a cheap way to stay in Thailand, do people think that immigration don't look at facebook profiles......
And it may be a good year to Get Married to your Thai girlfriend. That way you can get a Visa Married to a Thai and she can continue operating the lovely Guesthouse in Pai Yai ...just a suggestion. As Times are a Changing in Thai Immigration.
If you're planning to do a lot of travel in and out of Thailand while you're on the ED visa, you are going to have problems. The ED visa works if you are pretty much going to stay put in Thailand for a year (and go to classes). Immigration at the airport seems to look at these visas suspiciously now.
Josh Hearn it could. As Consulates will see the denied entry. And with a history of entries, you may not get the Ed Visa. And worse yet...be denied entry with your Ed visa upon arrival. IMHO...
Its time to rethink your plan for living in Thailand.
thanks james 🙂 if I get denied on returning from England, The main thing that worries me is if it affects the chances of approval for a non b in the new year, any idea ?
The visa is issued based on following a course, spending lots of times abroad is not the same as sitting in the classroom. Problems can occur with your school and with Immigration Office when you come to apply for an Extension of Stay.
No, you apply early enough for the Extension of Stay, if denied it will be sorry sir, this time you do not get it. No payment, no stamps and you have to find another what to stay inside Thailand.
worst case scenario I get denied, would that affect the potential to get approval for my non immigrant B visa that will be arranged for the start of the new year ?
