Any tips on closing my bank account and sending the money to the US? I only have a credit union, so no SWIFT/IBAN code. I can't find a transfer service that will send THB to USD.

Users share personal experiences and tips on navigating the hurdles of international money transfers.
I imagine that if you ask around you can find someone interested in transferring US dollars to Baht and you two can do simultaneous transfers to avoid the bank fees. I would have loved to do this with someone when I first moved to Thailand.
? With my app of Kasikorn and Bangkokbank as well, there is an option to send money abroad. I used it once to the Netherlands, and the money was in my Dutch bank account after about 10 hours. Don't know if there are special things needed for sending to the US/Credit Union.
kasikorn. I can try that tomorrow. Maybe I always try on the weekend when theyāre closed so I forgot about that! Thanks!

I will try that. With all the other bs you have to do to leave Iām not sure Iāll have time, but Iāll try (super early flight that gets to the us super late, so airport services will be closed both places)
second this. Any transfer out of Thailand is difficult and expensive. Withdraw as cash, change to USD, then bring it with you is the best option. (if it's not an enormous amount)

Credit union do have this information. U have to call and talk to them. They have something called sister branches. Credit union are connected. U have to ask for the international codes for their head sister branch that will then be sent to u. Done this before. Unless u have some really weird credit union....but yah they told me I couldnāt at first either but then I went inside and found this out

I know, my Credit Union Debit and ATM cards will not work here in Thailand.
