TLDR : Answer Summary
Many users shared their experiences with applying for a DVT visa without using an agency. While some succeeded in their applications, others faced rejections and incurred costs related to their efforts. The conversation highlighted the varying costs of application (e.g., $340 in Hanoi and 11,000 TWD in Taipei) and discussed the potential necessity of hiring an agency, especially if applicants are unsure of the requirements. There were suggestions to leverage community support and personal research for successful applications.
Did for myself and my wife in Jakarta and Hanoi respectively. Both approved. The fee for Hanoi was $340 at the time, don't remember Jakarta. You must be diligent with the required paperwork, if you can't be, an agent will force you for a fee.
A fair few people getting rejected in recent times from doing it yourself. Happy to put you in touch with a very reputable Samui agent if you need help
Cost 11,000 TWD and 3 days In Taipei.Did it myself with the help of posts from this group. This group has everything you need to successfully apply yourself.
Anonymous participant I did a lot of research to ensure I did everything right. There is a lot of good advice in this group, also YouTube videos and of course AI. If you’re really unsure of something you can also call you embassy directly
