What are the current restrictions for DTV holders opening a TrueMoney account in Thailand?

I considered an agent as I'm 83 & couldn't face queueing in 30+ temps. Eventually I bit the bullet and everything went smoothly. I never know why Pattaya Immigration can't do the 'visa' on the same day? I think they are making a mint charging 40 baht for parking for the three minutes it takes to pick up your passport on the next day!

It’s easy to do it yourself, the retirement visa extension is the easiest to do and done in a few hours.

Only use a agent if there no any other option available to you.

What I did was apply for the 90 day non o visa from the Thai embassy in London. I was able to open a bank account with my visa, passport, rental agreement and TM30. It was all fairly easy. I stayed in an air b n b for the first week while looking for a 3 month rental condo before I could open the bank account. Also needed a thai cell phone contract. Then I reached out to

who sorted the 12 month retirement extension. They also sort out the 90 day report for me. Reasonable price and no where near the 60k Bhat quoted in one post. I know some say just do it yourself but as a retiree I’d rather pay to avoid queues and using my time. It’s up to you but I’m really happy with the haste free service.
