Hello, Sorry for my question about Banking. I know this is for DTV Visa Group.
Today I got the app notification from SCB to come and update Face Scan. I did my update in June when they locked the accounts which don't have the same ID number with Phone Number.
Yes, I do need SCB Bank for the daily use, because
Wise - most of the street vendors and shops can't accept
True Money - Only 20 times per month for Prompt Pay and if more than 20, We need to pay 25 THB per transaction
I am planning to go to SCB Bank Siam Paragon to make Face Scan. Is it ok for now? After in next 6 month, I will go and get A new bank account in Cambodia which is like more convenient for DTV Visa Holders.
Thanks in Advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on the necessity of updating a Face Scan at SCB Bank as a DTV Visa holder. They mention previous updates due to account issues related to identification and express the need for banking services due to limited acceptance of digital platforms like Wise and True Money. Comments clarify that face scans are not mandatory for all transactions but are needed for large transfers. Additionally, there are corrections about the True Money service offering.
I think you are misunderstanding the message you received. They sent out a message saying that face scans are now available for foreigners. It's optional and only needed if you need to transfer over 50k in one transaction or 200k in one day. I don't think you did this in June because face scans were not available for foreigners in June.
Just to correct that true offers 30 and not 20 payscan to privates account but unlimited and free to every business account. I have only true money and I can do pretty much everything except paying the auntie at the market with qr codes (well, I can still do that once a day for free and when it gets to the end of the month I've NEVER run out of free scan pay)
itβs also a New Zealand thing, particularly in the Polynesian community. Even our two former female PMs got called Auntie by younger people while they were in office.
