I opened my Krungthai bank account with my study visa. I'm now on a DTV. I recently got a new phone so need to visit the branch to get them to set it up on my new phone. I'll need to hand them my passport. Am I opening myself up to them closing my account?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about their bank account status after switching to a DTV (Digital Tourist Visa) from a study visa. Comments suggest that while Krungthai Bank has not been noted for closing accounts without a long-term visa, they do not open new accounts for study visas. Many users reassure that bringing the passport and having a good banking history should prevent any account issues, and there are alternatives to address visa documentation when updating banking details.
So far Krungthai Bank has not been noticed in closing accounts without a long-term visa, although they no longer open accounts on a student visa as before. With Bangkok Bank this is a problem, they close accounts
I went for updating facial bio photo they did ask passport but they just looked and copied the front and no other pages updated my photo and got a new book bank
I don’t think they’ll ask for your visa. They just need your passport, and a letter from your phone company confirming ownership of the number to you. My ED visa ended in 2020, and I last went to change my phone number 3 months ago with my passport and the letter.
if you already have the account and they don’t care about what kind of visa you have. They will take photos and confirm the phone number is under your name.
