TLDR : Answer Summary
There seems to be confusion regarding quarantine requirements for vaccinated tourists traveling to Hua Hin in November. As of now, there is a 7-day quarantine in place for fully vaccinated individuals, with any potential changes to an official no-quarantine rule being discussed but not yet confirmed. Travelers may need to do their quarantine in Bangkok or Phuket before heading to Hua Hin. A Sandbox program is expected to be outlined for Hua Hin starting November 1, which would allow travelers to move freely after completing the initial 7 days under certain conditions.

There isn’t a 7 day quarantine in Hua Hin currently … so either do the quarantine in BKK or Phuket. Then you’re free to go wherever as long as you have both vaccines before coming here.

Danielle Hunter. No quarantine in Phuket, it's free to roam
Danielle ********
@Bobby *******
yes and no! You are quarantined on the island … sooo splitting hairs
James ********
@Danielle *******
you can sit home too in your home country and wait for the preCovid days to return to Thailand ...hopefully in 2022.
Danielle ********
@James *******
perhaps … but I live in Thailand and was happy to sit in a room for two weeks in order to get home
Bobby ********
Danielle Hunter. Splitting hairs? Freedom to roam over 500 square kilometres visiting beaches, malls, restaurants, gym, pool, mingling with others versus sitting alone on a bed in a 25 square metre room being fed through a hatch in the door is splitting hairs? Perhaps acquaint yourself with the Cambridge Dictionary definition of quarantine before making such a dumb statement! 🤣🤣🤣
Danielle ********
@Bobby *******
quarantine is a restriction of movement… the sandbox is a quarantine to the island … ie restricted movement off the island .

@Danielle *******
I see that nobody is asking about a mandatory SHA hotel. Will that restriction come off in November also?
James ********
@Gary *****
nope... It will be a SHA plus hotel booking for 7 nights...
Bobby ********
Gary Roth. No-one knows what happens in November. It might even go back up to 14 days, like the last time it was reduced to seven days
Danielle ********
@Gary *****
no , not likely

I am going to Hua Hin in January! But I will do 7 days in Phuket and 7 days in Krabi first!

I believe that then entitles me to go to Hua Hin freely?

my advice would be to just hold fire on your plans for a couple of weeks. The plan is that Hua Hin will have its own Sandbox scheme starting on the 1st November. As of today there are no confirmed details of that scheme. The details will be agreed in October.

That will mean when you come in January you will be able to travel directly to Hua Hin. For the first 7 days you will need to follow the rules of the scheme which will be similar to the Phuket Sandbox. That is book a SHA+ hotel, have 2 or 3 COVID tests and instal an app on your phone.

After 7 days you will be free to do what you want.

@Gene *********
once you have done your 7 days in Phuket you’re free to roam

Officially Oct 1st it is 7-day quarantine for fully vaxxed people.

The Nov 1st no quarantine is an idea they are evaluating. That is not yet official.

@MarGuyvin **
i will just plan on doing 3 months. i dont want to go thru the visa nightmare
Bobby ********
MarGuyvin A. Or seven days sandbox
James ********
@Bobby *******
yep... It will be a 7 day sandbox plan with the Phuket sandbox requirements.
Bill *********
@James *******
would be nice if nov one if things are gonna be altered the thais will let us know so we can plan ahead. buying tickets a week before hand is extra money
Benjamin ******
It's just a plan. Nothing been official yet. I don't even know how people would get to Hua Hin either in this sandbox plan.
Kevin ***********
@Benjamin *****
Probably the same way they get to ASQ..... By road.
Bill *********
yes im interested in this as well. hoping that more cities other than phuket and samui are added to the no quarantine list by nov 1. like krabi for instance or even bkk
Jared **********
@Bill ********
phuket and samui are still a quarantine, just an outdoor one, which is more easily done on an island.
Bobby ********
Jared Jernegan. It's not quarantine. People are free to roam, mix, go to beaches, restaurants, malls, gym, pool.

@Bobby *******
you're not very clever, are you? 5555

You can't fly into HH then, you'd need to do 7 days in phuket first.
