I just applied for my first 60 day Covid extension which runs from December 5 to February 5. I would like to stay until April or May. What are my options now the Covid extension is expiring. Can I do a visa run or ?

If the borders are open, you can bounce in and out. Otherwise, you MAY BE ABLE TO get an ED visa to study Thai.

Lisa Kühn that is the most likely outcome and i tend to agree there will be no cessation of the Covid extensions until land borders are open for border runs. Anything else would be a major policy departure for Thailand. And agreed that the panic for some individuals when questioned about covid departure is not about Covid extensions being denied. They don;t seem to be. And many locations are still making them very simple. It seems highly unlikely that some offices would be given authorization to reject when most continue to accept. People would simply switch to another office.

Lisa Kühn So why are there so many verbal rejections at some immigration offices with lots of foreigners (Changwattana, Muang Thong Thani, Pattaya, Rayong, Hua Hin...)?

Lisa Kühn I absolutely believe otherwise. There are lots of rejections over at Changwattana these days for the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19

i don't think he is going to receive those dates for a Covid extension. Expires Nov 26. He is on the wishful thinking program after that

At this moment wait and see if they extend the covid extension end date. No one knows if they will. They’ve done it lots of times before.

There’s very few countries around here that will let you in or you need to quarantine. I saw a post yesterday that Cambodia was opening up for vaccinated foreigners today but I can’t confirm that.

Yes, Cambodia is official. Opening up with no quarantine. One test on arrival and if clear good to go.
