Hello, at this moment we are in Thailand for more than 2 months. We extended our 60day tourist visa with 30 days. This will end at 13-04. Because of this corona thing I don't want to leave Thailand. Does anyone know if we can extend our stay or do we need to leave the country and return on a regular 30day tourist stay? If so, what country would be a good choise? We are in Krabi at the moment.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently in Thailand and is inquiring about the possibilities of extending their 60-day tourist visa, which has been extended by 30 days due to the COVID-19 situation. They wish to stay longer without leaving the country. The comments suggest that due to increasing travel restrictions, it may be necessary to leave Thailand to apply for a new tourist visa, and caution is advised regarding visa runs to neighboring countries.

i close this down. it seems that it does not stop, now we get newspapers items.

Borders are not closed for citizens and if you keep on telling that you can not go back home because your very special circumstances, so be it. Go to your Embassy and tell them your special circumstances. And you might get Extensions of Stay as much as you like.

BUT stop with all these newspapers and other sources about, you can not go back, borders are closed, airports are closed etc.

I had enough of it and the next time I read the same stories, I guide you on the way out, not out of Thailand as you have to do that yourself, but out of this group. Behave yourself and you can always assist with ADVICE . Thanks.

PLEASE if you like to comment, keep it legal,

It also depends on your nationality and willingness of your embassy to support your stay here with a letter saying you cant travel. Otherwise it's border bounce, but they are closing fast or becoming complicated.

Sorry, but just because you want to stay doesn't mean you can stay. You should leave the country and get another tourist visa or visa exampt. But, we don't know what your passport country is.

because of the corona thing, it is getting harder and harder to stay inside Thailand as a tourist. Most countries do tell their citizens to come back home.

@Robert ******
and some tell people to stay put

I'm also in Krabi. Just did a run to Malaysia before the border closed so I have nearly 60 days. Everything is closing fast. Do a visa run NOW

My non-b requires me to bounce by 5 April but I have commitments the next few days. Ready to transition to a BOI + extension but think going abroad to get the new non-b right now is an even worse idea.

Cambodia still in play??

Laos might remain open a little while and maybe Myanmar. That's your only options now I think and closing fast
