What are the consequences of a fine on my passport for missing the 90-day reporting in Thailand?

Was fined 2K THB today for missing 90 day reporting by a one day. Lets say I arrived on the 1st, I thought 1 day in Thailand would be on the 2nd. But the first day is included. It ran late due to a family emergency over the past few weeks. Immigration were very rude.

I'm wondering if this is a big deal to have this fine in my passport going forward. I have a DTV.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user expressed concern about being fined 2,000 THB for missing the 90-day reporting deadline by just one day. They experienced rude treatment from immigration and are unsure about the implications of having this fine on their record, particularly since they hold a DTV visa. Responses indicate that reporting can be done within a 7-day grace period without major repercussions, and that this minor issue is less serious than overstaying a visa. Some comments also discuss scenarios related to retirement visas and how reporting is handled while out of the country.

They don’t care and nobody in this group does. That attitude made me leave Thailand they can keep it.

I had a similar problem last year with immigration but I just received my visa extension.. so maybe it depends on the situation 🤷

If you don’t want to do a 90 day report you can depart country every <89 days for the next 5 years

Good Luck

I am on a retirement visa , what's happens if I leave country , get a Re-entry permit to stop my visa being cancelled but I miss the 90 days of reporting cos I am out of the country, I have heard you can do it via email the reporting so can I do that , does it go against you if you lie your in the country but your not . ?? Surely they can see I am not in courtry cos of the stamps on passport , I am hoping I don't have to lie on email reporting and my re - entry permit I paid for covers it , and I don't have to worry of reporting as I am out of the country ?
