Hello, I have a question about visa runs and proof of ticket out of Thailand. We will be doing a visa run at the end of the month in Ho Chi Minh and during our previous visa applications we have always had to have proof of a ticket out of the country. The problem is, after our 60 days is up we just plan on doing a border crossing by land and I don't know how to show them proof of that. We can't buy bus tickets this far out. Anyone have any tips or ideas of how we can show them proof of leaving Thailand? Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster inquires about how to provide proof of leaving Thailand when doing a land border crossing after a visa run, particularly since bus tickets cannot be booked far in advance. Suggested solutions include booking a cheap flight for proof, stating the intended border crossing, and providing a detailed travel itinerary. Others comment on the acceptability of bus tickets to neighboring countries as proof of onward travel.
Unless I'm wrong every thai consulate in S/E Asia will accept a bus ticket as onward travel. NOT one that just goes to the border :/ but one like from Bangkok to Siem Reap or something like that.
Those things are cheap as chips and some even allow you to cancel it and get a refund too
