What are the benefits of using a visa run company for border crossings to Penang, and how does a history of multiple visa stamps affect my entry?

What's the advantage of using a visa run company to Peneng? Less likely to get problem at the boarder if there are lots of stamps?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Using a visa run company to Penang may offer convenience, as they ensure all your documents are checked and guide you through the process of visas and transportation. However, there is debate about their benefits versus costs. Concerns about visa history are raised; having many stamps isn't necessarily a problem, but the duration of stays and time spent outside Thailand are more critical factors affecting entry and visa approvals.

"having a lot of stamps" is of no issue; it's the duration and the time in betweens that is an issue !

i have my passport now 6 years already (next year will expire); and i go to thailand every year 2 times. (3 weeks in summer, 2 weeks in winter)

however in the summer i also go to a neighbouring country almost every time in this 3 weeks, that means i have every year 3 IN stamps and 3 out stamps. this means i have 18 in and out stamps in 6 years.

i never had any problem, because i only stay 3 weeks and 2 weeks every year in south east asia.

If you stay more then 6 months every year on tourist visa's, that's much more highly to be denied i guess

really helpful information, can anyone confirm this is right please?

There is no advantage in using a visa run company to get a visa, except to make your wallet lighter.

As for your visa history, I'm not sure if a consulate/ embassy will give you an SETV or an METV, or if they do, if immigration will let you in. I recommend making a plan B just in case.

"does not matter as long as you get an Admitted to Stay" - brings me to another question: those Non B, Ed stamps I have, how likely will that get me intro trouble at the boarder if I were coming in by SETV/ METV? (I know there's no definite answer, just assessing the choices I have in hand to make a decision)

@Wayne ******
I would suggest you to go by land boarder. You can go Hat Yai from Penang and then fly wherever you need inside Thailand.

You had a Non B, have an ED want an METV or SETV does not matter as long as you get an Admitted to Stay. What is the reason you live in Phuket other then sunshine, lovely girls etc Get the visa that fits the purpose of your stay.

Did you get your METV in Hong Kong ???

Not yet, I just phoned them today asked for the documents needed. Haven't yet decided if I want to do it in HK or just a SETV in Peneng...

a Good company will check all your documents before you even step into the car/minivan/bus to Penang and will guide you trough the whole process of transport, drinks, meals, hotels, visa application and collecting. They do not have influence on the decision of the Immigration Officers at border check points or staff at Thai Consulates\

In other words, no advantage at the boarder despite the mandatory tea money slipped in the passport?

Do you have lots of stamps?
