I just started to apply for this years Non O 90 day double entry and found as of march 19th all has changed at the sydney consulate,,,now its E Visa,,,not a 90 day Non O double entry in sight,,,any best suggestions welcome for a 6mth stay?,,,I have family in thailand,,,usually only stay the 6mths,,,,is there a multiple entry tousist visa available that will achieve my needs, perhaps with extensions,,,consulate website not working properly….i noticed a family stay visa vaguely indicating “more than 60day stay”and 400,000baht bank deposit.Sounds like the marriage visa,,,didnt want to go through that again.

Any ideas?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Due to recent changes at the Sydney consulate regarding visa applications, the original Non O 90-day double entry is no longer available. Suggestions for a 6-month stay include applying for a multiple entry tourist visa, which could provide 6 months with 60-day stays per entry and potential extensions. Alternatively, a Non O-A visa could allow longer stays, providing multiple entries, though it requires health insurance and police records. A 90-day Non O visa with a family visit extension is also a viable approach.

Multiple entry tourist visa will give you 6 months with a border bounce or two. Or you could get a 90 day non-o and a further 60 days family visit extension at immigration giving 5 months. Then a border bounce for 30 day visa exempt if you want more time

9 months John then the possibility of the 60 day Visit Thai Family Extension if the OP qualifies (enter 60+30 bounce then 60 + almost 30 and a second bounce 60 + 30).

A suggestion could be a one year Non O-A visa which could give you up to two years stay in Thailand each time you apply. It’s always multiple entries. The main requirement are the same as for a regular Non O, but you’ll need a health insurance, health statement and criminal records from the police as well.

The evisa system doesn’t do multiple entry options for Non Immigrant O visas.

They do a multiple entry tourist visa which is valid for 6 months from issue and you’d get stamped in for 60 days on each entry.

With extensions and well timed border bounces you can eek nearly 9 months from that visa.

thank you for that confirmation.looks like the simpler way to go this year…one more question if i may,,,,since i find myself unprepared at such short notice regarding 400,000baht for family visit visa,,,,do you think a mastercard in excess of that amount would suffice as available funds?the web site states stays over 60days,,,however that amount was usually required for 12 mth stay ,,,with maturing …

I doubt they care at all that you have a credit card. A credit card isn't a bank statement. You can apply for a tourist visa which will give you 60 days on entry, and can apply for a 30 day extension. That's 90 days total. Then you can apply for a 60 day "visiting Thai family" extension in Thailand which also requires no proof of funds. That's 5 months total.
