TLDR : Answer Summary
The best options for extending your stay in Thailand after a 60-day visa exemption include: 1. Visiting a neighboring country like Laos or Malaysia to get a new stamp for another 60 days. 2. Extending your current visa at an immigration office for an additional 30 days at a cost of 1,900 baht. 3. Considering a 'border bounce' where you leave and return to Thailand, which may allow you another 60 days. 4. Weighing the cost-effectiveness of the options, as some flights may be cheaper than the extension fees.

You can go to immigration and get 30 days but if you need 60 , you will have to leave. Cheapest option....flight to Danang

Your best option is to fly out and back KL is good but stay one night.

You can extend for 30 days at your local immigration office but this option makes no sense for you as it costs 2000 Baht the flight to KL if you get it right is about 1500 each way.

Go to immigration and extend for 30 days more, it's easy and costs 1900 baht, then after that you can do a border run to Laos.

@Tom *******
why not just do a border run and get 60 days, no need for an immigration visit.
Tom ********
@Euan *******
Because if you do the 30 first then you can get another 60 by leaving and flying back in.

. . . or you get denied entry because you maximized your first visa-exempt 60 days with 30 days! . . . . . There is no guarantee! For a 60 plus 60, if one doesn't have too many stamps in the passport, there's a better chance of success

do a border bounce to Lao. No staying 1-2 nights and get stamped back in for 60 days. This is extendible for another 30 days just in case. Its safe and easy no questions by immi officials

Go get the 30 days don’t have to leave & it extends ya time

The OP needs another 60 days. So, leaving Thai to wherever and back toThai, get another 60 days, if there is no apparent history of using border runs that Immigration would have on their screens.

You can go immigration get another 30 days for 1900 baht. Alternatively go another country like Laos or Malaysia come back you got another 60 days

@Carl ********
30-days true. But no you have to stay 1-2 nights now as immi here in Bangkok have begun stopping people entering.

ok have you entered Malaysia by air and flown back to Thailand same day in the last 6 months? As I said Michael there's lots of people being denied for doing a border bounce now, not 25 years ago. Thus is because all your entry/departure information is in their computers. Have a read here:

you flew into Bkk and wasn't stopped or had to stay in Malaysia for 1 or 2 days. Its on the visa websites where I have friends and reported by lawyers on utube which I am friends with too. So are they lying to me? Post your flight tickets and stamp too
Steve ***************
Fly BKK to SGN to reset if you haven't already got a history of exempt Thai entry stamps. That's what I used to do before I got a Non O
