DTV Approved today in Hanoi for digital nomad/remote working. Thank you Tod Daniels for answering some of my questions🙏🏾.

My experience: applied in Laos 6 months ago and wasn’t aware at the time about having the funds in your account for at least 3 months. After a long and terrible bus ride to Laos from Chiang mai, was denied in a few seconds in Laos and window slammed in my face 😂. From there I waited 6 months and let my funds sit. Arrived in Hanoi May 14 and applied 14th. 15th recieved email requesting additional documents: (image of page in passport showing stamp into Vietnam and documents showing company’s business registration. Went to the embassy in Hanoi to try to give them an additional document I forgot to attach on the visa website but offices were closed 15-19th. During those day status was pending approval. Approved today 22nd. Fast turnaround. Their website when uploading documents isn’t the best, spent a full day trying to find the best way to compile my PDFs together and converting them into jpgs, and making sure everything was in order and clear before submitting application. Provided previous most recent bank statements going back 6 months (excluding transaction details). Only the important information: beginning and ending balances of each month. Signed employment contracts (forgot to attach the page of my contract that laid out the details of my work so I only submitted the agreement pages. Signed lease agreement of my condo in Thailand. Had many other documents prepared in a folder in case I was asked for interview, I recommend this, but was not necessary in my case. Thanks for everyone sharing their experience in this group has helped with my experience. Good luck everyone

Congratulations! I am applying today 😬 how long did you have the 500k in your account before applying?

@Amber ******
If you're also applying from Hanoi, you'll be fine with having the 500k in your account just a few days or weeks before the application. They don’t require the 500k to be in the account for a set period of time in Hanoi.

I left it in for 6 months, if you can id recommend it to be safe, I’ve heard some required 3 months and some 6. Even for where I applied (Hanoi) i heard it was either 3 or 6 so to be safe I did 6.

There’s no specific required holding period for the 500k in Hanoi. I was approved there with the closing balance of 500k deposited just two weeks before my application. However, I did have a steady stream of income going into that account and submitted a full 6 months of bank statements.

Thank You for your helpful report 👍

Congratulations 👏👏👏

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.
