Looking for a reasonably priced law firm or service or agency to help me navigate the Thai bureaucracy of getting a non-o visa (retirement) in BKK. I'm living in BKK now and have an ED visa (currently learning Thai) and have a bank account and a condo lease.

I'm ready to transfer 800k baht to my bank account but have read accounts of various immigration offices being very picky about exactly how the money is transferred in, and the timing of the transfers relative to the non-o application date, etc.

I know that many people just do it all themselves, but I'm willing to pay for the peace of mind of just taking an error free set of forms to immigration and having it go very smoothly.

USA citizen, over 50.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking recommendations for affordable law firms or agencies in Bangkok to assist with obtaining a Non-O visa for retirement purposes. They currently have an ED visa and are living in Bangkok, with a required 800,000 baht in a bank account. Comments suggest various agencies including Siam Legal and warn of potential scams. Some comments encourage attempting the application process independently if the user meets the bank account criteria.

As Phil mentioned, not that hard to do it yourself. Even I did it!

Go with Siam Legal. None better, though I'll say in Bangkok it's very straightforward to do it yourself, mate.

If you already have 800k in bank, as long as its been in the account for 3 months for 2st time visa or 2 months, then do it yourself. Unless you are trying to convert from a tourist type Visa

Be careful and make sure you get a legit agent. There are agents that use bribes and other shady ways to obtain visas. Good luck.

Yes, thanks. Not interested in agents that use shady tactics/bribes. I think my situation is fairly simple, I just want to avoid making mistakes that cause me to make multiple trips to immigration, or have to redo my 800k transfer (and wait more time for it to cure, etc).

Siam Legal.

Interchange 21 Building, near Asoke BTS.
