Will be our first visit to Kanchanaburi, where to stay, like a few beers in the evening, anyone know a decent hotel about the 800 BHT a night, many thanks.

Pong phen I’ve stayed there a couple of times,. Choice of around 3 different room types,. I wouldn’t fret over a room safe, I’ve never used one in my 11 trips to thailand,.

It’s rare for any hotel to not have one,.if there isn’t one in room the reception can safely keep your valuables,.

yeah pre covid last time I stayed there could hire motor bikes and a car to go up to erawan falls nice day out there

Thailand is very safe (if you pardon the pun) low budget rooms normally don’t have safe boxes that work at least

Safety boxes come with a master reset code set by the maker, something like 0 0 0 0 or 1 2 3 4. Hotel owners rarely change this master code and thieves know that.

So, I wouldn't rely on them too much
