Just go on hotels combined website there are loads of hotels on there, you would be better off booking about 6 to 4 weeks before you go, the prices come down then

I stay in a lovely place in jomtiem. Its not the ritz.by a long chalk. But its quite large bed ( very hard ) nice shower room kitchen with frige freezer.microwave .kettle dishes .air con .fan safety depossit box which is locked every night at 6 pm .not opened till 8 am next day .have a man on guard all night . Swimming pool.with sun loungers. And you can buy beer and other things . 7-11 just up the road .lots of bars within walking distance.also you have a lovely place called the night market.where you can just about get anything . Even a home made curry from the boys from birmingham . You have to pay for your water and electrix.and wifi if you have it.i don't know what the rate's are but i pay 22.000 thai baht for 2 months. Let me see you better that . Like ive said its not the ritz but its clean and its quite.

Kingston Suite Hotel Sukhumvit.

Perfect location for me in Bangkok. Just 4-minute walk to Sukhumvit road 15 minute stroll to terminal 21 and 6 minutes to the BTS Nana.

The room is large. A little dated but the bed is huge and very comfortable, I had two excellent nights sleep.

The shower has good water pressure and was hot at all times of the day and night.

Staff are friendly and helpful

Breakfast is 250 baht and although a little limited for western tastes, it was worth the money.

The only criticisms I really have are there is virtually no outdoor space and the view from my window was terrible But I am in the heart of Bangkok !

For the money and the location you really cannot beat this. Will I return again? Yes, I most certainly will.

Ibis Riverside Bangkok at Mae Nam Chao Phraya is a great place, about double the price you mentioned, more than 40€, including a great breakfast buffet at the banks of the river or inside. With swimming 🏊‍♀️ pool from where you can look at the party boats. 7 k from Grand Palace down the river.

How long are you staying ? Bkk is much more expensive with everything. It s up to your term. Agoda, air bnb , etc... is expensive, there much more better options, but Minimum stay 1 month
Peter ********
@Milan ********************
BKK is expensive if you want it to be, can be very cheap too. The markets, street food, transport.. all good in bkk.Try living in Patong, it's the most expensive city in Thailand
Milan *********************
@Peter *******
: condos aber more expensive as pattaya , motorbike more expensive, go out more expensive, and many things more... of the Islands much more. Patong is a District of phuket , not a City, but you are right , the prices grow up much and overcrowed with russians.

Ive live in all those places, Patong takes the cake.

It's THE most expensive place in Thailand.

Bangkok has no beach but more to do. Pattaya seems like it’s just a big sex town. It is the sex capital of the world. Check out Agoda app for cheaper hotels.

I stayed at about 5 different places and liked the ambassador the best. Ask for a higher floor in the wing where the racket all cts are. The other side has a bar below with a rather loud singer. It was worth adding breakfast.

Wherever you choose in Bangkok, make sure it's close to an MRT or a BTS station, or both e.g. Sukhumvit MRT is on the same intersection as Asok BTS. Don't go so low budget you don't get a fridge or kettle in your room. Some rooms you will need a 3 metre charging cable because of them not having bedside power sockets, and make sure your adaptor plug has a nice stable design because some power sockets in older hotels are fairly loose-fitting and plugs fall out of the socket. Consider Jomtien rather than central Pattaya; it's a better beach, more relaxed atmosphere, closer to the Airporter bus terminal, and you can still easily access central Pattaya if you want to. Just don't go further south than walking distance from Thanon Chaiyapreuk or east of Jomtien Second Road if you want to use the Songtheows ('baht buses') which cost 10 baht per ride. My regular Jomtien choice is Villa Navin. Remember that any taxi or tuk-tuk service you hail will charge at least twice the fare quoted on Bolt and Grab

Sunshine Hip Hotel Soi 1 everything is in walking distance but away from the loud night life . Book before you come and it should be around $26-29 dollars a night with free breakfast. Very nice staff , stayed here for the last 3 years .

what kind of fresh market? Seafood, meats, vegetable? In Pattaya there is a 711 or tops every 500m so you want be far from one unless very unlucky

close to an open market with fresh fruits and veggies and eateries
Andrew *******
@Sherry ******************
so if you mean close as in can walk to it have a look at places around Pratumnack Soi 6 as on Soi 6 there is very large market with many world foods, and clothes and bits but not too much fresh veg, it's called the Russian market but there is food from many places there, it's open 6pm to midnight, or maybe somewhere close Thepasit road would be good, another big clothes and bits market with a big food stall section, but again not much fresh veg, but I believe there is another market close that has, I just have not been there, in general though getting around by bolt taxi is cheap so I wouldn't worry about how far a place is too much unless you will go the market everyday, it's not close to a market but I stayed in Peak Towers for a while and it was very good, very close to a big 711 and only 5 mins from the main street with bars and shops and only 5 mins to the beach, and on the main street there are 3 fruit shops and also a couple of veg shops and also 3 restaurants and other food places and each night at the opposite end of Soi 9 to Peak Towers there are usually a few food stands, sushi, grilled fish, chicken kebab, roti, and more up the street that do roast chicken and ribs, and so many more that are mobile and come around to you and some stay opposite the big 711 too, really is lots of choice and lots of it's mobile

If your thinking long term don’t stay in Pattaya straight away. Do BKK first then do a couple of trips to Pattaya to see if you like the vibe of the place. It’s not for everyone.
Paul *********
@Boran ****
I would have said that the other way around. I personally can't wait to leave Bangkok when I get to the airport. Pattaya on the other hand is my go to place.
Boran *****
@Paul ********
Well I’m the opposite. But I just think BKK is the hub you can venture south, north. North East etc in a pretty vanilla Thai atmosphere for a newcomer.
Paul *********
@Boran ****
we will agree to disagree 555

You chose well, something for all budgets
Baz *********
You can easily find budget accommodation in Bangkok or Pattaya so pick a location..

And some idea of what you consider budget accommodation cost wise would be helpful and also for how long will you stay?

Many hotels and guest houses offer discounts for long stay bookings of 30 days or more..
