What are my options for staying in Thailand with an expiring passport and a multiple entry b visa?

Swedish passport holder on a multiple entry b visa.

My current entry is valid until 11 of November ( the actual visa is valid until April 2020).

My passport expires in beginning of April 2020.

This morning I was denied to fly to kuala Lumpur (border bounce to get another 90 days) although I had ticket to BKK the same day and an appointment with my embassy tomorrow morning.

What are my options?

1.Are there any other neighbouring countries that allows entry with less than 6 months less?

2.Would I be able to get a extension at immigration, with a supporting letter from my embassy, until my new passport arrives?

3. Do I need to get an emergency passport in order to be able to do a border bounce?

Thanks for your input.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Swedish passport holder with a multiple entry B visa is facing issues due to an expiring passport. They were denied a flight to Kuala Lumpur for a border bounce despite having a return ticket to Bangkok and an upcoming embassy appointment. The user seeks options regarding nearby countries with less than 6-month passport validity requirements, the possibility of extending their stay at immigration with a supporting embassy letter, and whether an emergency passport is necessary for a border bounce.

i deleted my advice as it was not needed. She has 9 years experience and know how it works. Good luck with your Extension of Stay application. Feel sorry that you prefer to wast time, go to Hong Kong as suggested.

Hong Kong requires passport validity one month beyond intended stay only. Maybe not neighbouring but flights are not that expensive either and no visa required for most nationalities.

Vietnam may also be an option. They require six months for a visa exemption but only one month beyond visa expiration if you get that in advance.
