What are my options for renewing a 90-day non-immigrant B visa in Thailand if my documents won't be ready before the expiration date?

Terribly sorry if this has been asked before

I have a 90 day non-immigrant b visa that is set to expire March 2 however, all the documents I require for the one-year extension of stay are not going to be ready until March 1, which seems a little bit risky

I was wondering, just to be on the safe side, if there is an easy or easiest or somewhat not too difficult Boarder crossing I can do from Thailand should I need to leave the country and get another 90 day visa Thank you very very much

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster is concerned about their 90-day non-immigrant B visa expiring on March 2, while necessary documents for a one-year extension will only be ready on March 1. They seek advice on easy border crossing options or other solutions to avoid overstaying their visa. Responses included suggestions for potential extensions through an appeal during the pandemic, options for flying to neighboring countries like Cambodia or Vietnam for a visa run, and the importance of having a work permit for the extension process. It was also highlighted that leaving Thailand would typically mean reapplying for a new visa rather than simply obtaining another 90 days.

Let me guess. You do not have a work permit either?
John *******
There are none.

The concern is not about the processing time for the extension of stay, one of my documents was done incorrectly due to my accountant filing the PND 1 late and therefore the earliest I can get the new filing done would be March 1

However the latest I can do my extension of stay would be March 2 as that’s when my visa expires

You can see why I’m concerned I’m looking for other options

@John ******
it’s an accounting issue and it’s loooking like not
John *******
You should be okay then. They normally grant u a 1 year extensionthe same day.

Then they should be able to do the paperwork on time.

And the 90 day non immigrant b online

@John ******
I do

You need that to apply for the extension of stay

If you leave Thailand, you will have to apply for a non B visa all over again, you don't just get another 90 days (unless you're on one of those multi entry non b's that haven't been issued for a while). I'd get on to your employer and get them to sort out the paperwork pronto... it doesn't take that long

@Nigel *********************
yes that’s what I’d have to do. It can be done online so I’d leave the country and get a new 90 days
Jeremy ********
Fly into Cambodia (figure out their COVID related entrance protocols) complete the Thai pass with everything that it requires…fly into Singapore, fill out Thaipass with all requirements

Land borders are closed, you can get cheap flights to Phnom Penh, to do an out/in but will have to apply for a Thailand Pass for re-entry.

That’s crazy but good to know thank you

just a heads up, If you're doing that I would get your flights sorted asap, I went earlier this months and I got the usual type price of about 5000thb return. However, I saw on a group yesterday someone posted that they can't find flights for less than 250 euros return and that is like a week or more in advance. With Cambodia being the only place open close by and with them canceling extensions now for non imm visa holders, everyone is now going to be going to Cambodia to sort out their visa situation which means the prices are going to be sky rocketing due to demand so I'd say get it done now so you don't end up paying crazy money or finding out there are no flights available. My flight was on the 2nd to phnom Penh and it was completely full.

@Bobby *******
ahhh brilliant thanks

You can get 1 month urgent extension by appeal letter with covid recommendation letter from your embassy. It's hard but you can request to immigration officer with a Thai citizen who can talk well with them

Thanks again

@Bobby *******
I’ll pass that by my lawyer
Bobby ********
May Thae Myo. That looks like a 60-day covid extension.
May ***********
@Bobby *******
urgent extension is like this
Nigel *********
@Mark ***********
You won'r get a covid extension on a non Imm visa
Mark ************
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Bobby *******
However this was offered before the official announcement so that complicates things a little bit
Bobby ********
Mark Scodellaro. If you've been officially informed there should be no problem. I've never heard of such an extension, but immigration offices do have powers of discretion.

@Bobby *******
I’m very confused on this point because the immigration officer told me that I could get 30 days when he reviewed my case so I have no idea if this is Covid related or just an emergency extension
May ***********
@Bobby *******
Yes but this solution is told by the officer just yesterday

not the Covid extension

just a urgent extension for issues like this

I've got 1 month extension just like that
Mark ************
ORIGINAL POSTER
Is this a Covid extension of 30 days because I believe then a rejection letter from your embassy works the same
May ***********
@Mark ***********
That's the only chance for this issue as the immigration told me

Sorry ☹️
Bobby ********
@May **********
. The OP is already on a B visa. The covid extensions are no longer available for these visa holders

@May **********
that’s what they recommended however my embassy does not send out these letters. I just spoke to them. I did read however somewhere and maybe you would know if I’m correct, that if the embassy doesn’t issue letters an email stating that they don’t issue letters is enough for the request
Mark ******
I’m pretty sure all the land borders are closed at the moment.
Mark ************
ORIGINAL POSTER
Oh sorry I think I was being a bit ignorant, I did intend to fly
