Hi hoping for some advice thanks. Im uk passport holder. Im looking to spend 3 months in thailand. I cant qualify for setv because no income in bank account. Been thailand on visa exempt and extension last september/october stayed 6weeks and done the same 2 years ago. What my best way to stay for 3 months. Maybe visa exempt and extension then fly somewhere and come back in on another visa exempt. Is this possible and what about proof of flights to show airline and immigration. Thanks in advance😁

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a UK passport holder, seeks advice on how to stay in Thailand for three months without qualifying for a SETV due to insufficient bank account income. Suggestions include entering Thailand on a visa exempt basis, extending the stay by an additional 30 days, and then performing a border run to re-enter Thailand for another visa exempt period. Furthermore, commenters note the importance of having proof of funds, onward travel, and accommodation when entering Thailand.
Depending on the country of origin of your passport and the visa you use or not use, you could be asked and even denied boarding towards Thailand by the airline company. Thai Immigration may ask you to show
20.000 Thb or equivalent currency in CASH
Proof of accommodation
Proof of onward travel within the time allowed to stay, this depends on country of origin and visa.
Similar to other responses. Enter by air: 30 day exempt. Then, extend at immigration OR do a border bounce. I would recommend the Vientiane-Nong Khai border. Very friendly. And you could pop by Udon Thani, which is rather nice. Feel free to PM for more info.
In case you're asked make sure you have the 3 proof ofz;
proof of funds (20K baht or the equivalent in CASH)
proof of onward travel within the days you'll be stamped in for
proof of lodging
then follow The suggestion you mentioned enter on a 30 day visa exempt entry, extend it for 30 days, bounce out and back in to get a new 30 day via exempt entry after that.
Maybe a strange idea but how difficult can it be to put 510 GPB in a bank account. But okay, if you do not wan to get a visa, the only option left is Visa Exempt Entry, you have to discuss with the airline company how you're going to proof onward travel if asked, or in 30 days or in 60 days. I would say, book a flight within 30 days, no hassle at check in, get into Thailand, use the flight to leave and come back for a new 30 days and get the Extension of Stay for 30 days to get to 90 days in total.
By air? Get visa 60 day in uk then extend for 1900bhat at imigration office for 30days easy, I have email for Sharon in uk if you need it to make appointment in Liverpool for 60day visa :-)
Ok great thankyou. I just read somewhere that i needed proof income in bank for setv. All good now ill get 60day visa and extend thanks very much. Very helpful
2. Extend your visa exempt by another 30 days (giving you a total of 60 days).
3. Border bounce at the end of the 60 days at most borders. I recommend Htee Kee Myanmar/ Phunaroum Kanchanburi because they won't let you leave unless they will let you return.
You'll get a total of 90 days using this. If you want, you can extend that visa exempt by another 30 as well.
You can only do two visa exempts by land each calendar year.
BUT... remember that you can be asked for 20K THB (or equivalent) IN CASH when you enter or do a border bounce, as well as a ticket out of Thailand and a hotel room book. If you do not have those requirements when you fly in, and you're asked for them, you'll stay in the immigration detention center until you can book a flight back to the UK.
Ok thanks that sounds like best plan. I will be in bangkok. So just organise a border bounce from there to either of the two places that you mentioned and all with be good. Maybe ill stay 4 months now thanks benjamin hays and everyone else
