Is there a limit to how early you can renew a Covid extension? Can I get a new Covid extension if I have 3 weeks left on my current Covid extension?

TLDR : Answer Summary
There are new rules regarding the renewal of Covid extensions in Thailand. While in the past, extensions could stack onto existing ones, now most immigration offices start the new 60-day period from the application date, resulting in the loss of any remaining days on the previous extension. Additionally, many offices issue an 'under consideration' stamp, requiring the applicant to return to that specific office within 7-30 days.

In the past, pretty much every office would add the time for a Covid extension on top of your existing Covid extension if you already had one.
Now most offices start your new 60 days on the day you apply, so you'll lose any days you had left on your previous stamp.
Also note that most offices are now giving an under consideration stamp which means you'll have to return TO THAT OFFICE ONLY 7-30 days later depending on the office.
Also if you use Jomtien immigration office, they will send you away until you only have a few days left.
Ok cool. So the only issue with going 3 weeks early is that I’ll lose the 3 weeks? I’m not too bothered about losing those 3 weeks. Just want to make sure I have enough time to plan if Covid visa is ended after the current deadline expires, as a lot of people suspect.

Yes. But if they reject your application you'll get a 7 days to leave Thailand stamp. Always have a plan B.
generally not. They turn people away often. They might let you apply if the program is about to end, but you'd have to ask them. They're well known for being a difficult office.
