Can you all help with a short list of options?

My ED visa expires in Nov. 2020. Can i get any kind of an extension without leaving thailand? Am I eligible for a 30 day extension or any extension at all without leaving?

If i want to get a retirement visa without the ฿800k do i need to leave the country?

Before the new flu, was it possible to get a retirement visa in laos?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending their ED visa that expires in November 2020 without leaving Thailand, and whether they can switch to a retirement visa without the required ฿800,000 in their bank account. Comments suggest that it's possible to change the reason for the extension from education to retirement without obtaining a new visa. There are also mentions of alternative options like the Elite Visa and recommendations to consult an expert for guidance.

I have had a couple but I get very angry with these people

We all some times may ask a silly question

But that gives nobody any right to take the piss

I am on my second marriage my last was forty years married but my wife was very sarcastic for those forty years hence why I get very angry with anyone I don’t give it out as I hate it so I don’t expect it back just a little respect each orthers views the guy who spoke to you was obviously a wanker 100%

If I can help you I will try if not I won’t

sometimes you have to block then yes. I have a simple answer on expats forum, small issue not so critical as one’s visa. Some guy I didn’t know posted a string of curses at me, crazy dude.

Will do thanks

, one solution I have found is to block those who bring nothing to the party but vitriol and ignorance. Helps to sort the wheat from the chaff, and makes for a totally enlightening experience. Try it, and watch the difference.

Or you could try a visa company but find out your options first before any money

thanks. The “people who know”. ? Are you suggesting asking at immigration? Do you think they will help? Or should i look elsewhere? Thanks again.

I appreciate what tod suggested. I am just not sure i am ready for ฿800k in a bank. Looking for other possible extension possibilities.

You would get a letter from your school stating you stopped studying on xxx date, and before that date you would have put 800K baht in your bank account and let it there for 2 months. THEN you would go in, cancel your extension based on education and and immediately apply for a new extension based on "being over 50" (retirement).

You do NOT need a new VISA, (you aren't here on a visa now anyway you're on an "extension of stay") all you're doing is changing the reason for your extension from one based on education to one based on being over 50 (retirement). People change the reasons for extensions all the time..
