What should I do to improve my Vietnam DT visa application after two rejections?

Hey everyone, I’d really appreciate some advice.

I applied twice for the Vietnam DT visa and got rejected both times:

- First time (Ho Chi Minh City): I misunderstood the financial document requirement.

- Second time (Vientiane, Laos): I think it might be because I didn’t have my latest payslip since I had just left my job, but I’m not sure.

Now I’m not sure what to fix before applying again.

- Is having a remote job (software developer) an issue?

- Should I try a different category?

- Does the country I apply from matter?

At this point, I think I need an agent. Can anyone recommend a reliable one?

Thanks for any help.

There is a whole lot of people who have been gaming the system & living in Thailand on tourist visa or visa exemption. As this got harder to do the easy option has been hop over to Vietnam and apply for DTV for cooking or boxing class. For this reason Vietnam has been absolutely inundated with DTV applications and many think for that reason have a very high rejection percentage. The thought is that this is because they do not really understand the paperwork they are receiving from Australia, UK, US. etc as they are used to dealing with application from Vietnamese citizen with Vietnamese documentation. While it is not impossible to apply from another country such as Vietnam, it is far easier to apply from your home country where they will have a far better understanding of the requirements v's the documentation you can provide.

I am about to start a genuine job and I wanted to apply in a country near Thailand, I have EVERYTHING except pay slips, haven't been paid yet obviously. I emailed the Thai Embassy there and they never replied so I called and got through to a really nice lady who basically told me in perfect English that I should not waste my time applying unless I had payslips. I appreciated her honesty as the whole trip could potentially have cost me 40K with flights, hotels .... Etc.

I don't really get it. So you say you're applying as a remote worker for a job you "already left"? If so, then you don't meet the qualifications (for remote worker) anymore.

Anyone can recommend me any agent that can help me in this case? I'm considering applying with soft power.

Người tham gia ẩn danh Yes, you can apply a third time — Thailand has no limit on DTV applications. But applying without changing anything will likely get rejected again.

Before you re-apply, you need to know exactly why you were rejected the first two times — not guess. Bank document presentation and remote work proof are the most common issues, but the fix depends on your specific case.

Unfortunately, you probably are going to get rejected again. I would give it 6+ months and apply again then, maybe from your home country embassy

After being rejected 2 times already it is most likely you will be rejected the 3rd time also. Maybe you should just consider orienting to another country🤷‍♂️

You applied with a job you had left, that would get you rejected. Having a remote job as a software developer is not a problem. You need to fix the basics of your application. A reputable agent can't help if you don't have the required docs.

You didnt say which category you applied.... if you applied for remote work without having a single payslip, that might be an issue
