Will my partner be able to enter Thailand visa-free after multiple stays?

Hi, I’d like to ask about visa-free entry to Thailand.

My partner previously stayed in Thailand from August 15 to November 12, then left for about a week and re-entered from November 19 to February 2.

Since February 2, she has been outside Thailand for around 2 months, and is now planning to re-enter on April 1 by flight.

In this case, would she still be able to enter Thailand visa-free, or is there a risk of being refused entry?

Thank you very much.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The chances of your partner being allowed visa-free entry to Thailand on April 1 are uncertain. Given her extensive travel history—multiple stays and extensions—there is a significant risk she could face questioning or denial at the border. While some commenters suggest she might be scrutinized because of her frequent returns, others recommend obtaining a appropriate visa to reduce the risk of being turned away. Ultimately, it is at the discretion of the immigration officer, and the advice leans heavily towards securing a proper visa for peace of mind.

It depends of the immigration officer, if he had a fight with his wife or a bad night... he might say no!

Why don't these people get the right bloody visa, no wonder authorities are looking at 30 day visa free. So why do you keep returning to Thailand maybe it's the weather.

I would suggest talking to the company that host this group, and get VIP entry. They will assist, and give assistance before risk getting turned around at Airport .

Sound like your friend is walking the thin red line of what immigration accept, but as others say, it can go ok or it can go bad. Up to the individual immigration officers, so..

this means that within the recent 365-days period, she had entered visa exempt twice and extended each stay with the 30-days touristic extension. I am actually surprised she got issued a 30-days extension by January, instead of a simple 7-days extension. She has reached the upper limit of visa-exempt stays. It is very unlikely she will be able to get another 60-days visa-exempt stamp. She should hire a VIP Easy Entry offered by a few agents who will ensure she can pass the airport Immigration

That's a lot of stays. So it looks like she's trying to live in Thailand without a visa.

Josh Lee people living in Thailand without getting a visa is why they've tightened up the existing rules.

It is totally at the discretion of the Immigration Officer whether they consider this history normal tourist activity or not. You obviously do not hence asking the question.

I hope not.

But all reports today state that it is moving in that direction because of misuse and border runs.

Steve Flanagan Nothing is happening to the 60 day (tourist) visa. There are talks of the 60 day visa exempt entry reverting to 30 days but no decision yet.

She might or she might not. No way to tell really. If she also has prior history in Thailand that would also count against her. Perhaps better to get a visa that's appropriate for her intended stay
