Is using the 60-day visa exemption plus a 30-day extension, with a trip to Malaysia in between, a viable plan for my 6-month stay in Thailand?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to stay in Thailand for 6 months using a combination of a 60-day visa exemption and a 30-day extension, along with a brief trip to Malaysia. However, comments reveal that the user cannot apply for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) from Thailand and should apply while in another country. Additionally, there are suggestions about reconsidering the trip to Malaysia if it doesn't serve a specific purpose.

Unless you really want to visit Malaysia, why spend time and money there, instead of just crossing the border back to Thailand.

You can't apply for DTV when you get back. You must apply whilst in another country

I assume he refers to when he gets back home, after his 6 month trip...

Do it soon rather than later.

It’s quite popular and the requirements are getting tougher.
