ORIGINAL POSTER
My retirement visa is due for renewal on Aug. 9th. Is there a grace period after this date, or if I stay past this date will it be considered an overstay? Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The retirement visa does not have a grace period after its expiration date. Once the visa expires on August 9th, staying past that date will be considered an overstay, leading to potential fines and restrictions on future entries.

Strange that there are people who always have to be out at the last minute. Why not go to immigration a week earlier?

No grace period, you would immediately be on overstay once it expires. You also would not be able to get another extension even if you meet the criteria. If you want to extend again you must do so before your current extension expires

easy now, unless I'm mistaken most offices WILL let a person on a short overstay pay the fine and get a new yearly extension.

What James said.. you get a naughty stamp in your passport, and fined 500 baht for each day over, and if it's too much, you won't be coming back in the foreseeable future.

Just pay the 1900 baht to extend, or take a short vacay to get it sorted.

can extend ONLY if he meets the financial requirements for the One year extension of stay as retired.

There is NO grace period.

You will be on OVERSTAY past that date your current extension of stay ends .
