Has anyone done the Nong Khai to Laos border run since it opened again recently. What's the process on both sides.. do I  need Thai pass to return?

You need to get visa on arrival in Laos. You can pay in U.S. dollars but the bills have to be crisp & clean with no marks or tears. Same thing with Thai Bhat if you pay that way.
