Laos has ordered the closure of ten entry points, including three less commonly used land borders and Savannakhet airport, leading to concerns about visa runs for expats. Key checkpoints such as Nong Khai and Mukdahan remain open for now. However, travelers to Savannakhet face a mandatory 14-day quarantine, which affects their ability to conduct border runs.
Paul isn't a member of the group so he can't see the tag. Feel free to invite him though.

Seems from what I read the Border Check Points at Nong Khai / Lao Bridge and Mukdahan / Savannakhet Bridge are not on that list and will remain open for the time being. Pending further announcements

Note that this involves the closure of three less commonly used land borders only, plus Savannakhet airport (NOT the land border there). It's unlikely to affect many people here.
how about you hold off on the ignorant comments a while? OR be quiet and let the grown ups talk, okay?

It's only certain very specific borders that were less used in any case. The main borders are still open.
"Those on the Laos-Thai border consist of Namheuang and Nam Ngeun checkpoints in Xayabouly province, and Na Pao checkpoint in Khammuan, as well as Savannakhet International Airport."
