Is the Thai government's offer of 100k baht for tourists infected with COVID-19 a valid strategy?

The Thai government have teamed up with Agoda to give a 40% discount on accommodation at hotels as well as discounting meals to help boost their tourist industry.

Japan is offering to pay the price of the holiday I read,

If you weigh up everything

To come and stay at a quarantine holiday costs minimum of 35,000,

You get 10 tourists = 350,000 just on hotels, 1 tourist gets covid -100,000tb is not so bad.

Plus all the spending they will do, ...

If this attracts and brings in thousands, from low risk countries and they are quarantined, and tested etc it could actually be a good idea 🤷‍♀️

They should use the same testing kits they use for testing in arrival at Suwannabhumi.

Domestic tourism is important here, and it's the only tourism there is going to be for the foreseeable future.

This is slightly a bit different but there are supposed to be 0 foreigners in Thailand now as long as these people have not been out of the country they are not a risk

My question is this why would you want to force them to go home no tourists are coming into Thailand at all but the ones who are here are still spending money keeping the shops and everything open they do not get one single bht from the country and pay for there own health or cover so they are costing nothing to this country but are helping to keep business open so if you send most of these people home you are also sending the money they spend out of the country as well

So what will happen to the small business who need there custom

I think I would rather keep them here at least till tourists can come back with no quarantine who can a Have o e month of from work for a holiday but only see two weeks on the beach the orther two spent confined

Because they didn't do their job and quarantine those Egyptians that brought C19

Not only in Thailand...some country promise to pay everything if a tourist get infect..while on visit in this country.!
