TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion highlights frustrations regarding COVID insurance in Thailand, specifically that the available policies offer limited benefits, often only providing payouts in case of death due to COVID-19. Many commenters express skepticism about the effectiveness of these insurance types, suggesting they mainly serve the purpose of fulfilling visa requirements rather than providing real financial security or health coverage.

Absolutely no point to having insurance ( Thai recommended ones) it’s literally only to tick the Thailand pass box 😡

They are really severe symptoms, you could need hospital with less. I had a common thai insurance, expired January. A month before I received an impressive package. Policy, card. I though wow they are renewing it! All in Thai. I had SO call. They say this was the expired one. All they offer is if i die-they sell 1 MB life insurance if i die of covid

If that’s the case then you shouldn’t have to isolate.
