ORIGINAL POSTERCan anybody tell me why I simply dont get my damn Work Permit after 7 months working in TL with a Non B visa in my passport? It takes for ever! Is my employer hiding something or ducking and diving this document? I need it to apply for my Teaching Lisence in TL. My contract ends end of Febr! Any idea!

Work permits are issued same day if the paperworks in order. If you haven't gotten your work permit, either your employer hasn't submitted the paperwork or they are not eligible to employ you.
You should note that working in Thailand without a permit permit is illegal. Some other countries like Vietnam allow foriegners to start working while the WP is being processed. That's NOT the case in Thailand, you cannot start working until you receive your workpermit.

I confirm. When I was younger it took one month to process a work permit and police loved to come at the working places during that period to catch foreigners. Don't ask me who told the police that a work permit was under process for that particular place, but no doubt they shared the money Farangs gave to the police to avoid arrest.

Because your employer has no intention of getting you the work permit, you shouldn't have worked one day without it. You are working illegally.
