My working visa is processing within the country but not sure if there will be enough time to get the work permit as I'm going on holidays out of Thailand next month. Would it be a problem if I leave Thailand without the work permit? Will they let me back in? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about leaving Thailand while their work visa is still being processed and whether this will impact their ability to return. Comments indicate that leaving the country may cancel the work permit process, requiring a restart. It's advised to visit the labor department as soon as the visa is received, and that the first working visa approval may come with a short-term visa (usually one month) that requires the individual to be back in Thailand before it expires.

Also, is this you first time having a 1 year working visa? If that is the case, they will give you a month Visa (under observation) before they give you the full 1 year.
You can leave the country but be sure to return before that 1 month visa expires.
In some cases, the immigration from your ciuntry will be yhe one who will ask for you work permit. (Again, in some cases) this is to prove that you are really working here in Thailand.
My suggestiom is, go straight to the labor dept. Once you get your Visa. The process will just take 1-2 (business) days.
