I have looked at several posts about vietnam and thats where I am headed to apply for the DTV. I know all the requirements and have all the documentation, I am just a little confused about the e-visa process. Is the E-visa the same thing as the DTV? or do i actually go into the embassy in Ho Chi Minh and apply from there? Just trying to get clarification before I book a flight.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The e-Visa is an online application process for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV). Applicants do not need to visit an embassy in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) to apply; the process can be completed online. Once approved, the e-Visa will be received as a PDF, and it will not appear as a stamp in the passport, though it will be referenced as a DTV. It is essential for applicants to ensure their arrival in HCMC or Danang for visa processing.

All done online. Even the actual visa is an e-Visa so it won’t appear in your passport. The stamp will refer to DTV e-Visa and you will have the evidence on your portal

You apply online, but if you want to apply in HCMC you must land in the south from Danang to HCMC.

Evisa is the online visa application. When approved you will receive your visa in a PDF. No need to visit an embassy. DTV - Destination Thailand Visa name of the visa you are applying for.

Yes, if you applying from Vietnam you need to be there. You have to upload your passport stamp of entry into Vietnam and accommodation there. If you are in Manilla, you can do a walk in application, no need to go to Vietnam.
