I heard that Ban Laem crossing, Cambodia is open.  Not necessary to cross into Cambodia to renew 90 day. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

entered and exited Cambodia today by land at Chong Sa Ngam, cambodian official sat on Thai side before immigration. Looked at our passports, CDN and Belgian, asked where we had traveled in the last 3 months and said we would have no problem. Before Cambodian immigration there were 2 health officers, took our temperature and asked about where we had been for the last 3 months, gave us a yellow slip. Cambodian immigration attached yellow slip to visa application.

So Cambodia is still a land border hop option? if you are not from one of the countries on the list or have not visited one of them.

I had a visa run company just tell me that Ban Laem is still open, but when I told them I was from the UK they said they wouldn't take me as will get rejected. Looks like it's open but only for certain countries.

yes it has been done before. But you need to ask your friend if he can hand carry and obtain the stamp this time. With the fact that Americans are not allowed entry...you may not be able to do this now.

As mentioned earlier Cambodia, only closed for;

France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Spain and USA are not allowed to enter AND

every person who visited those countries in the last 14 days.
