TLDR : Answer Summary
As of now, there are no COVID-19 restrictions for entering Laos from Thailand via a land border crossing at Nongkhai. Recent updates indicate that Laos has removed all COVID-related entry requirements, and Thailand has not reimposed any restrictions despite ongoing rumors. However, with changing situations worldwide, particularly with China reopening its borders, travelers should stay informed of any potential changes.

Laos has scrapped Covid restrictions. Thailand doesn't have any despite rumors they may be reimposed, which would be the height of irony given that Laos just scrapped them last week.
Currently no restrictions. However since China will be opening up their borders on Jan 9th you could potentially expect changes. Various media reports suggesting testing and insurance but as of yet they’re just media speculation.
land and air have the same requirements, unlike your native country Myanmar, which applies stricter requirements at the land borders, which are technically not open yet.
If they did do random testing, it won't happen at land borders in my opinion only airports
There isn’t anywhere as of yet. Keep an eye on these forums for updates. Although many will tell you to check the embassy/consulate websites for details we have found over the past few years that we hear details way earlier than the consulates.
