TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, American tourists can still obtain a 60-day visa exemption upon arrival in Thailand. The discussions clarify that the visa exemption means U.S. passport holders enter without a visa for 60 days, as there is no visa on arrival for Americans. Concerns about expedited visa services are addressed, noting that these do not exist, and members advise checking with local resources for any official updates.

Listen to Brandon he's better than any lawyer or agency or concierge service

Yep. Just turn up.

Your post implies you have a recent history of living inside Thailand. A new passport won't change that history. Depending how much time you've spent in Thailand you're right to look for a service that will safely see you enter

Still 60 days, you're good to go

Did you book your flights quoting old passport number ? If yes make sure you take old and new passport with you to check-in they may ask for it.

Your local RTE website has the answers.

There's no such thing as 60 day visa on arrival, and Americans do not qualify for Visa on Arrival.

There is still 60 day visa exempt for people with a US passport.

Also there's no such thing as "expedited visa service." The embassy processes visas the same for everyone.

Its called visa exempt, meaning you enter without a visa. Visa on arrival is only for certain counties and they pay 2000 baht on arrival to get a visa. To answer you question though, yes US citizens still recieve 60 days visa exempt when they arrive. There are no plans for that to change that I am aware of.

The visa exemption is available to USA passport holders for 60 days
