TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the possibility of getting a 60-day tourist e-visa approved in less than five days through a visa agent, expressing a preference for a proper visa despite being aware of the free 60-day visa exemption. Various commenters responded, suggesting that the application would be processed normally without fast-tracking, and raised concerns about the necessity of obtaining a visa when a visa exemption is available upon arrival. Some highlighted the potential complications of overstaying, while others reassured that entering Thailand visa-exempt is welcomed and straightforward.

Where are you getting your information from Mars. You think you are the only case like this. It's nothing to worry about. Just come into Thailand they welcome you. Visa exempt just arrive it's free in the land of smiles.

People overstay in Thailand (whether accidentally or intentionally) all the time. If they get to the airport and pay the fine there is generally no repercussions returning to Thailand.

Some reports of people who have applied for visas for other countries but denied because of an overstay stamp from Thailand but returning to Thailand is usually not an issue.

Just dont do it repeatedly.

so this tells me you’re worried about not being admitted for a reason
Wylie *******
Why? There is absolutely no advantage to getting the tourist visa before you come. It'll just cost you more.

only reason is i overstayed by a few days last time i left thailand cause of confusion.. due to two dates being stamped in my passport.. so im just gonna pay for the visa this time to make sure i dont have any issues

not sure how many days but i only had to pay 8,000 baht at the boarder.. the actual visa had a different expiration date from the stamp so i was confused.. im guessing around 15 days..

a visa and an entry stamp are two completely different things so have their own dates. A visa is permission to enter the country within the validity time frame of the visa. An entry stamp is what you get when you enter the country and tells you how long you are allowed to stay in the country based on the type of visa you have. You can enter on the very last day the visa is valid and still get stamped in for the full time frame the visa grants.

usually it's 500 baht per day so that would be 16 days. Nothing to worry about

okay cool, i even renewed my passport and got a new passport number and everything just to clean things up as much as possible, if that helps at all

won't make the slightest difference. Your biometrics will show all your history

Passport details aren't shared as much as you think. The US want to know more about people coming to the US than the other way around. Any country wishing to participate in the US Waiver Scheme has to collect data to US standards. UK passports do not meet EU standards because fingerprints aren't shared. When your passport is scanned, it's checking that the basic data matches what's printed on the passport. This is why dodgy people end up in Thailand on stolen passports. The data isn't even flagging a stolen passport. The US State Department will maintain records on its citizens linked to God knows what databases, but there is no way an IO at BKK will be able to access US government databases.

but when you apply for and are granted a new passport from your home country it will contain the details on your old passport in the biometrics. Similarly if you have 2 passports due to dual nationality. The biometrics embedded in the passports will have details of the other passport

@Dane *****
The new passport won’t make a difference. It’s all on the computer in Immigration.

Paying $40 for a tourist visa is completely unnecessary. You’ll get a free stamp visa exempt on arrival.

Paying an agent, to get a $40 visa is just madness.

it doesn't matter if you have a visa, or not. Just because a Thai embassy issues you a visa does not mean you will automatically be let into the country. Don't waste your money.

having a visa doesn’t mean you won’t get issues

No, the Embassy will process your application just like any other, there is no fast-track or back-handers
