Is the 60 days tourist visa changed to 30 days from first of July?
Answer summary
The 60-day tourist visa in Thailand remains unchanged as of now. While there are discussions about reducing the visa exemption period from 60 days to 30 days, this change has not been officially announced. According to various comments, the current rules hold until an official date is set for any modifications, which will be published in the Royal Gazette.

Spouting on about this knee jerk reaction to a non existent problem since last November has caused an even slower low/rainy season than is normal..
no complaints from me I breezed through 2 weeks ago on a Visa Exempt 60 days and as there are hotel deals aplenty I will take a 30 day extension added to this in August when it will be even slower, When said extension is over mid September it will be around 190 days in the last 12 months..🙂..Then on to VN/ Cambodia for four months to enjoy their low season and rock bottom prices..great time to be a tourist right now 🙂
Steve Greir What advice did the OP need ? Correct. ZERO. I guarantee it took him more time to figure out how to post this than the roughly 15 seconds it would have taken to Google it.
To ask it here ? Who knows, but apparently, YOU don't get sick & tired of seeing the same Q&A repeated so many times when a simple search would have done the trick. Others do. Oh well.
ADVICE "Advice is a noun meaning an opinion or recommendation offered to guide someone’s conduct or decision-making." <--- I Googled it. 15 seconds🤣
Alan Rothwell Unfortunately for all your ranting about Google, Google are giving the wrong advice claiming that visa exemption has already returned to 30 days, which it hasn't
Steve Greir Actually, it's the same authority. A subdivision of the Royal Thai police that handles immigration matters. They are officially known as the 'Immigration Bureau of the Royal Thai Police'. It's the same department that runs the borders and visa centres in embassies. Think twice before you make yourself look like an ignorant fool, you c#nt.
O'nthe Baw Depends Nationality of your Passport. Visa exemption under review. Tourist visa can only apply within 90 days prior arrival. So you need to wait until the final decision is published in the Royal Gazette
Andrew Romine It is exactly what it says an exemption from getting a visa so how the hell can you say it is classed as a tourist visa. It's not even a visa.
David Cook it is under the same classification as a tourist visa - 7 countries passport holders get 90 days exempt - its not a visa but its under the same classification as a "tourist" - it serves the same purpose
Foreigners who are already in Thailand under the current visa exemption schemes and those plan to travel to Thailand prior to the effective date of this revision may stay until the expiry of their permitted period of stay. Thereafter, they may enter Thailand under (1) the new visa schemes; (2) bilateral visa exemption agreements; or (3) an appropriate visa which can be conveniently applied through Thailand’s e-Visa system.
The change has been decided, just not the date yet. So 60 days still is the rule until they announce a date for new 30-days rule. Will be announced in official channels and media.
