1yr MULTI ENTRY NON-B IN PENANG

Success!!

I was a bit worried as the visa agent in Penang told me my WP must say Managing Director "กรรมการผู้จัดการ" (not just Director).

Mine says "กรรมการ" (which translates as "Committee/Board") and my lawyer said it would be fine but you never know 😂

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their successful experience obtaining a 1-year Multi-Entry Non-B visa in Penang, despite initial concerns about the wording on their work permit. The conversation revolves around the necessary documentation, including the requirement for an invitation letter from the employer, and whether it's possible to apply without a work permit as a director. Others contributed by asking about the visa application process, the need for interviews, and costs associated with using a visa agent.

Did you go there by yourself? Or with an agency?

Do the agents ask you to make an interview?

I have to go to Penang soon I was thinking to go by myself without agency.

I used an agency but you can do either. I didn't need to do an interview, no.

How many thai staff do you employ?

It depends, when you're a foreigner who like to work in a company it is 4 Thais to one work permit, if you married and your wife is the owner it is 2 Thais to one work permit, if the company is set up under BOI regulations or under the American treaty it differs. Difficult to give the correct answer. You ask why, well sometimes Immigration does follow Facebook and other pages on what you like to share, so no inside information being shared. And this is how far I let this discussion go about staff to get a work permit, This has nothing to do with Thai visa advice.

also you have to have paid up capital as well on your business, but 4 to one is rule of thumb unless you go BOI

not missing anything. You asked how many I have for my company. I'm telling you the general rule. Whether I have 4 or 200 makes no difference

Ok thanks. I thought you would have known having being a director and just obtained a work permit? 🤔 Am I missing something here?

And your photos must have a white background. Mine were the WP blue background ones. But of course, the visa agent can make some new ones for you instantaneously 🙏😂

This is the letter from your employer that describes the job and ask to the Thai consulate for a non B visa for a employee they need in their company. Must be signed by Thai Director.

yes sorry that's an agent price... Let me edit the photo to delete price as I know it's not allowed to recommend agents!

that price seems wrong :/ Unless that has the agents fee added into it. I don't think that's the cost of the visa alone if you push your own paper at the consulate.

nope not from the thai consulate in Penang, you need at least 8 months left on your work permit there for the year-long. Or that was my understanding.
