Hey, I have a question regarding multiple entries permit. 

I got my visa extension (ED) on December 26th. I've been granted 28 days and I have to go back on January 23rd to get the rest of my extension (you know, the "application of stay is under consideration and the applicant must contact again in person on..."). 

However, I am going on a trip to Singapore tomorrow for the weekend and was planning to get a multiple entries permit instead of a single one, as I'll travel multiple times during my stay. But as the permit might be available until the 23rd of January (as my extension is apparently still under consideration), means that I'll have to do it again so it is actually not worth it right?

There is NO reason AT ALL to get a multiple re-entry as it will run out on Jan 23rd. You do NOT have an extension valid past that date right now so if you get ANY re-entry permit it will expire on that date.

In your case, you are allowed to be inside Thailand until 23 jan 2020.

If you buy a Re-Entry Permit it will be valid until 23 Jan 2020.

If you leave and come back into Thailand using the re-entry permit you get a new Admitted Until 23 Jan 2020 stamped in your passport.

a Re-Entry permit is valid until the last day of your Admitted or permitted to stay inside Thailand. The day your legal stay inside Thailand stops is the day the re-entry permit stops.
