Hi, I am about to apply fir the DTV in Phnom Penh. Is it "required" or only "recommended" to stay in the country till I get approved?

TLDR : Answer Summary
It's a requirement to stay in the country until your DTV application is approved. Many embassies conduct follow-up checks, and leaving the country during the application process could result in rejection without a refund.

It's required. Many embassies do follow-up checks to make sure you're still in the country days after you apply. And if they find out you left, your application is rejected with no refund.

It even tells you on the application that you must stay until your application is processed.
