In that case you should apply for a 60 days tourist visa before leaving home, which in certain countrys can be done in a few days

someone told me the Jomtien IO sent him away and told him to come get a 30 day extension closer to his exemption end date. Like less than a week.

that's Jomtien. The op specifically asked about Bangkok which allows applications up to 45 days in advance.
