Hi everyone! Looking for information about student exchange but hard to have a confirmation if yes or no we can go to Thailand.
I'm meant to study 8 months at Assumption University to finish my double degree. The university is willing to give us the acceptance letter, but the Thai embassy in France told us that student exchanges are not possible..
What are your thoughts and info on this topic? :) I'm from France, going to Thailand in mid-Jan, for a 8-month long stay (ED visa)

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking clarification on the feasibility of a student exchange program in Thailand amid conflicting information from their university and the Thai embassy in France. Despite receiving an acceptance letter from Assumption University for an 8-month program, the embassy has indicated that student exchanges may not be allowed. Comments suggest concerns about travel due to ongoing COVID-19 issues and differences in visa types for exchange versus full-time students, emphasizing the need for more information on visa eligibility and the current travel situation.
I just obtained an ED visa for a student exchange, flying out on the 14th. I did get it in Australia though, where we donβt really have any big virus issues.
lucky you! Yeah, here in France it's even more complicated now ^^

Teo I think youβll find it very difficult to come back by January especially with the situation in France right now. One way ticket, insurance and quarantine hotel is around 100,000 THB alone then you also have visa issues as a student. I would speak to the RTE in France to see if you even qualify for a visa as that is your first hurdle. Then figure out if itβs worth all the extra time and money to get here.
Just heard there is a difference between Exchange student (degree from France, for example), and Full-time degree student (degree from Thailand).
Does someone have more info about this? π
Thank you in advance!

Sorry but how crazy you are.. Thailand is virus Free and France.... I think you can answer the question your self as you try to sneak out.... But NOT have the chance to come on..... First solve your problems with your party people.... If you are free... You may be get a visa in 3 years
I wish I could've been responsible for the French people and their behavior but that's really complicated.
I've been wanting to come back to Thailand even before Covid existed and just trying to get there π
I hope I'll have a chance to go before 3 years ^^
Please acknowledge that I am an individual, not a country, and that this was in my plans before Covid π

Someone from France just returned to thailand and tested positive for covid (after the quarantine even!) dont think you will be able to come in January... Take a gap year?
that βFrenchwomanβ was actually ethnically Thai, just a dual national. Funny how she suddenly becomes a farang in the news when she catches the virus.
The Department of Disease Control (DDC) said health authorities found the Covid-19 virus on the surface of an exercise fitness machine at a gym room of a quarantine place in Samut Prakan where a French woman who contracted the disease stayed.
you are totally welcome! And just to say, I want to leave thailand and see my aging parents, my mom is getting dementia and it's tearing me apart, but there is a 4th covid wave... AnD In the flu season of extremely cold Canada! I am stuck, too... I dont want to bring death to them, nor myself. They are high risk. Anyway, maybe its good to look at all sides to keep a good perspective
you dont think That this Person get the covid in Thailand after her quarantaine ? Impossible After 3 covid Test plus 14 days of quarantaine to brings the COVID from France , itβs amazing to believe that
I dont believe that at all, which is why I pointed out the quarantine in bbk... I think she or he got it here! But immigration will think its from Europe, or France. DENIAL (the nile)is not just a river in Egypt.
This conversation started badly but ended up really well haha!
Happy we managed to both be open π
(I'll get the second one haha)

I'll send you back you your first comment about Narcissism π
And to one of my previous messages about not speaking when not knowing anything about a person π

if I had on euro for everyone like you overflowing with abundant ego I have dealt with over the years, I would be competing with the Sultan of Brunei. Take your losses. Shut up. And sit down.
Iβm sure if we had a cerveza or biΓ¨re you would be able to grasp it all much easier. With less ego driving the bus. Youth and exuberance is not without peril. And our skillful navigation of the shifting landscape will determine our futures. My FB is an open book if you wish. Finding happiness can be both easier... or far more challenging than we can imagine π β€οΈπ
reflect on that. It's why I am in the position I am....and why you are aimlessly grasping at hope for a series of bad decisions you have made this year
Bro, I've been ahead on schedule planning this trip π don't suppose things before knowing
Situation has been constantly changing and adapting, something you might be lacking : adaptation and understanding π
This is getting boring, have a nice day todd

Ask anyone in Covid times and they'll tell you life has changed in a way or another.
This post is not to take a decision cause I'm lost. It's to confirm if yes or no my decision can take place π
You're amazing Todd π€

Teo Rodriguez it's actually miles beyond hilarious that you think you are giving me advice.
Todd *********
Teo It is because I asked and considered at the right time that I am where I am at present. Life was obviously going to change. But you are arriving 8 months late to the knowledge party. Reflect on that. You will not be coming to Thailand in January as you failed to take the necessary steps. As you noted, life has changed. And you missed the bus

Correction : growing, happy, curious, not scared to respond and quite rational honestly π
I don't speak about you as old, boring, disrespectful, boring/bored, or useless.. so keep your criticism and advice and have fun wherever you are.
(And self reflect about the utility of your comments π)

Teo lol. U are erroneously thinking you are offering sage or experienced advice. That is an error. And the reason why I am not online asking questions of others about the direction of my life. Take some time to self reflect on that. Because it doesn't sound like life is going as you wish.

There is a difference between giving information cause I'm kindly asking for help and showing off.
Don't really get your point with your comments.. a simple "Yep, the Thai Embassy in France is right" would have been enough (you had half of it right, not bad).
Consider just answering the questions asked if you spontaneously want to respond to them. If not, just don't answer and make YOUR life and life of OTHER'S easier π
For the moment I'll consider my options to go to Thailand in the following months to continue studying, and I'll continue contributing to society (as we all do)! No worries about that my friend ;)
happy to add you as a Facebook friend so we can see how we both evolve.
I am actually quite happy to see you look happy in life. I think the next step could be sharing your happiness instead of "dealing" with millions of people

Thx! I also definitely enjoyed your self-serving, narcissistic line of questioning! Fantastic. Very thoughtful and cognizant of the nation you desire coming to. And the geopolitical situation here. Really, all that matters is is you being able to finish your βdouble degreeβ . They are definitely keen to accept more self absorbed youth!
