Do we really need to submit last 3 months bank statement ? Is 2 month enough? Because one of my statement balance is below 16,000$ and i am worried.
Is it mandatory to submit 3 months?
Location : New York Thai Consulate
Answer summary
The standard requirement for bank statements when applying for a Thai visa is typically three months, but this can vary by consulate. While some applicants report success with only showing two months or even a bank certificate, it is generally advisable to submit the requested three months to avoid potential issues with your application. Concerns about having one statement below the necessary balance are less significant if the most recent statement meets the financial requirements.

Depends where you apply. Just upload your recent bank statement. Unless asked for more. And if they do.., Don’t worry it’s mostly to check you have a legitimate bank account and it hasn’t been set up super recently by a visa agent.
You should upload three months of bank statements, as that is the standard requirement. However, it is not necessarily a problem if one of those statements shows a balance below the threshold, as long as the most recent statement clearly meets the required amount. What matters most is that you can demonstrate you meet the financial requirement at the time of application.
correct ✅ And it appears that the anonymous poster is American as the Thai Embassy or Consulate in the USA require US $16,000 bank account balance in applicants name only.
Personal opinion and experience: submit what they ask for. I don't think they're looking for reasons to deny everyone. They're simply looking for reasons to deny people who *abuse* the system. Consulates differ, but this is the pragmatic viewpoint I'm using on my journey to Thailand (from the US; Chicago). ❤️
