TLDR : Answer Summary
The COVID visa extension (60 days) is available to those who are currently in Thailand on a visa exemption. However, individuals must first apply for a regular 30-day extension before applying for the COVID extension. It's important to note that applications are subject to approval by an immigration officer, and the final day to apply is July 25th.
Noted. This is for my brother. He arrived in Bangkok last May 19 with a visa on arrival. He then went again to Lak Si for 30 days of tourist extension last June 13. Do you think he can still apply for a covid visa? For the reason of we wanted him to spend more time with us since the whole family now are living here except my brother.
I doubt he arrived with visa on arrival and probably arrived visa exempt.
Anyone can apply until July 25th, but the immigration officer will be the one that decides if it's approved or not. Some offices have stopped accepting applications, some hand it out like candy. The only way to know is to apply.
