Do I need a home embassy letter to get a COVID extension for my tourist visa in Thailand?
For people who entered with a tourist visa: is it true that now (with the new rules until 25 March) to get a new covid extension you will need SURE a home embassy letter??

Different immigration offices have different requirements for the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19. Some require the embassy letter/ proof they don't issue the letter. Some require proof of flight out of Thailand.
I would view the 60 Day Extension of Stay based on Unable to Travel due to COVID-19 as a "bonus", where you shouldn't expect that extension of stay to be granted.
