TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, an updated TM30 is generally needed for a re-entry permit when leaving and returning to Thailand. It is advisable to file a TM30 within 24 hours of re-entry, ensuring it is correctly associated with your current address. If the previous owner didn’t file a new TM30 upon your return from leaving Thailand, you will need to address this before obtaining your re-entry permit.
Same address as before but yes left Thailand and returned in February but owner didnt file was new tm30. Now planning to leavs again soon and went to get re entry today but immigration was swamped. Im thinking i need an updated tm30 since my last arrival.
Graham SealYesterday at Jomtien immigration they were super busy after returning from lunch and after queue for a number they said" no more rentry today " , come back friday" they also suggested getting the re entry permit at the airport. Never done it that way before. Is it a big hassle? allow an extra hour ?
Jackie Washington You get it at BKK after security (use International Departures No 2) but before Immigration. If there's no queue it takes 10 to 15 minutes as they will complete the TM8 form for you (or you do it in advance and provide a passport sized photo). Cost will be 1200B (or 1000B if you do the TM8).
